~Highlights from Dessert By Candlelight~

On Saturday, December 12, 2009, we had our annual Dessert By Candlelight event! This was our 9th year hosting the event and we had a great turn out, despite the rain outside. We didn’t let it dampen our spirits inside!

For those of you who have never attended DBC, it is a special event that Women of Hope puts together each year, on the 2nd Saturday in December. It is a ladies night out from the hustle and bustle of the season where you can enjoy rich dessert, laughter, and a concert in a candlelit setting!

We had some great desserts this year: Red Velvet Cupcakes, Chocolate Cheesecake and Tiramisu! They were all “Mm, mm, Good!”

We invited Pastor Ronny Mills to come and minister to us through his music. He gave us his testimony and performed some worship songs and some songs of the season. It was such a blessing to have him a part of DBC!

Along with our musical guest, we had a gift basket raffle! Each year we sell raffle tickets to our guests for a chance to win a beautiful gift basket, donated by the women of our congregation. In fact, Ginger said it seems like this year’s gift basket raffle may have been the biggest one yet!

If you’ve never attended Dessert By Candlelight, you’re missing out! I would definitely recommend coming to the next one! You will be blessed in so many different ways!

Thank you to all of the women of Central Assembly for the love & support that you are giving to Women of Hope! We’d also like to thank those of you who took the time to fill out our surveys. Your opinions & suggestions are greatly appreciated in our attempt to fulfill the need of the women here at our church. Please continue to keep our ministry lifted in prayer & that the Lord will continue to use it to bless us women, spiritually, & the other women that come in contact with us!
